The game showcases stunning full 3D graphics, depicting the intense naval battles of the greatest war at sea. It features historically accurate ships, aircraft, weapons, and various ship upgrades. The gameplay brings together deep strategic planning and swift tactical decision-making, providing a unique gaming experience.
Players have the option to choose between playing as the US Pacific Fleet or the Imperial Japanese Navy. With 90 combat zones to navigate through, victory is no easy task.
Pacific Fleet offers both Single Battle and Multiplayer Hotseat modes, allowing players to challenge friends or engage in battles on their own. The game boasts an impressive list of 44 achievements to unlock.
What sets Pacific Fleet apart is its realistic physics system. Ships sink based on buoyancy physics rather than hit-point bars, adding an extra layer of authenticity to the gameplay.
Submarine warfare and carrier operations are also featured, incorporating dive bombing and torpedo bombers. Dynamic weather conditions, shore bombardments, and night engagements further enhance the immersive experience.
In addition to sinking enemy ships, players can target specific ship subsystems to either sink or cripple their opponents. With 17 playable ships and 8 playable aircraft, there are plenty of options to choose from when planning out strategies.
Each play-through is unique due to the random ship placement, varying wind and weather conditions, and different night engagement scenarios.
